1. Retain any significant items such as:

• Warranty Certificates
• Use and Care Manuals
• You may even want to keep left over supplies like paint/shingles etc

2. Let the contractor know how you feel about his service and the completed project.

• This could be done verbally
• The best thing to do is write a brief note or letter

3. Ask the contractor if he pays referral fees

• you may be able to earn a little spending money by recommending them to your friends and co-workers
